Hon. Mrs. Justice Bubile Grace Lungu Shonga

 

PROFILE

Hon. Mrs. Justice Bubile Grace Lungu Shonga is a Judge of the High Court, Commercial Division. She was appointed to the High Court on 11th May 2016. Justice Shonga holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from University of Zambia and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. She was admitted to the bar in 1996.

Prior to her current appointment, Justice Shonga served as Assistant Director, Legal Services at the Bank of Zambia. Justice Shonga initially served as a Tax Consultant with the Audit Firm Deloitte and Touché. She later practiced law in the law firms Corpus Globe from 1997 to 1999,  Chifumu Banda & Associates from 1999 to 2000 and  Simeza Sangwa & Associates from 2000 to 2001. Justice Shonga went on to serve as General Counsel and Company Secretary for Lafarge (South East Africa) in 2008, after which she co-founded the law firm Sikaulu Lungu Mupeso Legal Practitioners in 2009. In 2010 she joined the  Bank of Zambia as  Legal Counsel-Advisory.  Justice Shonga has tutored at the University of Zambia and lectured at the University of Lusaka in the Law of Contract and Commercial Transactions courses, respectively.

Justice Shonga served on the Law Association of Zambia Council. She served as the Honorary Secretary of the Legal Practitioners Committee (Midlands).

Justice Shonga is a member of the Zambia Association of Women Judges, where she is serving as a member of the executive committee.
